Hotel Lobby Furniture from China: Reception Desks, Lounge Seating and Feature Pieces
The lobby is the first room every guest sees and the one that appears in most of the hotel’s photos. It has to carry the design concept at full strength and survive constant traffic: luggage, cleaning carts, people sitting, waiting and working. Chinify sources custom lobby furniture from specialised factories in Foshan, China, from the reception desk to the last side table, for hotels, resorts, serviced apartments and residential towers.

What we make for lobbies
- Reception and concierge: reception desks and counters, concierge and bell desks, back-of-desk cabinets
- Lounge seating: sofas, sectionals, lounge chairs, ottomans, benches and banquettes
- Tables: coffee tables, side tables, console tables and communal tables
- Feature pieces: decorative screens, shelving and display units, wall panels and planters
- Lobby bar and business corner: bar counters, bar stools, work tables and seating
- Lighting: chandeliers, floor and table lamps to match the furniture (see hotel lighting)

What makes lobby furniture hotel-grade
| Element | What we specify |
|---|---|
| Reception desk | Built to the site dimensions from shop drawings; strong substructure, stone or solid-surface top, protected edges at kick and counter height, cable routing and space for equipment |
| Lounge seating | Hardwood or metal frames, sinuous or pocket springs, high-resilience foam and contract-grade fabric or leather; fire-retardant materials where the project requires them |
| Table tops | Stone, sintered stone, veneer or metal with finishes that resist rings, scratches and cleaning products |
| Metal details | Plated or powder-coated trims and bases; finish samples approved before production, especially for brass and bronze tones |
| Consistency | All pieces checked against the same approved finish panels, so wood, metal and fabric tones match across the space |
Lobby pieces are usually one-off or low-quantity, and often large. That makes shop drawings, finish panels and site measurements more important here than in guestrooms, where a mistake is spread across many identical pieces.

How a lobby project works
- Design review: plans, elevations, the furniture schedule and the designer’s references.
- Shop drawings: for the reception desk and other built pieces, drawn by the factory and approved by your designer, with site dimensions confirmed.
- Finish panels and samples: stone, veneer, metal and fabric approved together, then prototypes of key seating.
- Production and three-stage QC: materials, in-production and pre-shipment inspections with photos.
- Packing and loading: large pieces split where the design allows, stone crated separately, everything labelled by area.
The full sequence, including payment and shipping, is explained on how we work.

MOQ and lead times
- Samples: about 2 to 3 weeks for a standard piece with a size or finish change, 3 to 6 weeks for a new design.
- Loose furniture: standard models from 5 to 10 pieces per model; custom models usually 20 to 50 pieces, or combined with the guestroom order.
- Reception desks and feature pieces: made to order for the project.
- Production: about 30 to 45 days for standard items and 45 to 75 days for custom items after sample approval.
Lobby furniture is most efficient when it ships with the rest of the hotel. We consolidate it with guestroom and restaurant furniture in the same containers.

Frequently asked questions
Can you build a reception desk from our designer’s drawings?
Yes. The factory prepares shop drawings from your designer’s drawings, and production starts only after your designer approves them and the site dimensions are confirmed. Stone, veneer and metal finishes are approved on samples first.
How is a large reception desk shipped?
Where the design allows, the desk is built in sections that join on site, so it fits through doors and into the container. Stone tops are crated separately and every section is labelled with assembly drawings for your installer.
Can you match lobby furniture to finishes in the rest of the hotel?
Yes. We approve one set of finish panels for wood, metal and stone and use them for every factory on the project, so the lobby, restaurant and guestrooms match.
Do you only supply lobby furniture, or the whole hotel?
Both. Some clients order only the lobby and public areas; others order the full FF&E package. Combining areas in the same shipment usually lowers freight cost per piece.
